Outside Sales Account Executive

Job Description:

We are seeking an Outside Sales Account Executive to expand our reach into and develop the market in the Northeast. This position can be based anywhere within the territory and will have responsibilities both within and without the office.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Selling Logistics and Transportation services to manufacturing or distribution companies in NE
  • Services offered include import, export, and domestic logistics solutions, including international air and ocean freight services.
  • Responsible for new business development by setting up onsite visits (via phone call or email communication) with prospects and converting them into customers
  • Will be held accountable for reporting weekly activity levels and sales
  • Meet monthly and quarterly targets
  • Selling Logistics and Transport services to manufacturing and distribution companies
  • Arranging visits with existing and new clients
  • Generate new business accounts
  • Maintain and grow a personal list

Job Requirements: 

  • External sales experience
  • Freight forwarding experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Outside Sales and/or Freight Forwarding
  • Must be a self-starter as this is a home-based sales opportunity
  • Computer Skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office


  • Generate business with assigned clients and targets in line with the sales expectations
  • Focus on Ocean Import and Export
  • Company offers all products including Air and CHB Services
  • Ideal Candidate will have a portfolio of business or a strong book of business connections.
  • Execute sales process, strategy and method

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years industry sales experience
  • Functional experience in air / sea / customs brokerage • Local market knowledge (customers, competitors, suppliers)
  • Expertise and professionalism in customer contacts, understanding of customer requirements, analysis and resolution of problems and complaints
  • Business administration, commercial and operational background

Job Summary

Our team is seeking an entry-level or seasoned sales professional to participate in a group effort to grow the sales and business unit of our region and increase the market presence of, as a premier international logistics provider by both Ocean and Air Freight. This position requires an energetic, articulate, personally motivated, and results driven professional. Must be growth oriented, profit driven, and focused. Team player with a positive attitude, individual initiative and good communication skills is a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Management of self-motivated sales developments.

Maintain and expand client relations.

Negotiating international rate quotations.

Meeting or exceeding company sales goals and targets.

Complying with regulatory requirements.

Reporting to local managers with updates and progress.

Constant business development.

Daily cold calling for appointment scheduling.

Consistent weekly off-site client appointments.

Account maintenance and communication with overseas offices to ensure international and customer requirements are met.

Build relationships with customers to continue to consult and educate on the always changing international shipping regulations.


Team-oriented with motivational skills. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.

Excellent decision making and multi-tasking skills. Complete and thorough use of basic computer proficiencies. Portray commitment, professionalism, formality and a sense of urgency to meet the criteria needed for this industry.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor s degree; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
